The public office is at 220 N Industrial Pkwy, West Union, Iowa 52175. Published office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Verify hours before visiting. For a city police incident, contact Oelwein, West Union, or Fayette police as appropriate. For case disposition, use Iowa Courts Online or the Fayette County Clerk of Court. The Iowa Department of Corrections handles state-custody records, which are separate from the county jail.
When asking for an existing record, identify the person, date range, agency, and record type. Request a cost estimate. The sheriff's current fee schedule lists $5 for the initial incident report copy, 50 cents for later copies, and $15 per CD for photos or video, but it does not set a distinct booking-photo fee.
